                                                                    Picture
I am super excited about our signing class of 201.  We have 12 Division 1 signees which takes us to over 90 Division 1 players in 8 years.  We had a great season this past year with an 11-1 record.  I thank God for the opportunity to coach at this level.  We have been able to keep winning and getting kids in school despite our distractions.  We will continue to pray for our enemies and friends.  We are excited about the future.  Recruiting is going well as expected.

I am super excited about our new education partner, The American Academy.  They can better serve our kids and their needs.  They are accredited through the Northwest Academic Agency and the classes are NCAA approved.

                                                                    Head Coach Newman

                                                                    Picture
I thought we had a very good season.  We broke some records offensively and defensively, as several kids had a record breaking year.  God has been good here.  We've had over 80 NCAA Division I players attend here over the years.  We have also had some great Division II players.  We are looking for a great signing class this year.
The clip on ESPN was a very biased clip.  This program is not about what people think and their opinions but about the facts.  People will have you believe what they believe but the facts are the facts.  We truly understand that success breeds envy and jealousy.  I thank God that I will not be judge by people, but by God.  We are getting it done here in grand fashion.

                                                                    Head Coach Newman

                                                                    Picture
                                                                    Georgia Military
Georgia Military is one of the finest Junior Colleges in the country playing football.  They were coached extremely well.  This is the worst we have played in our years of existence.  We had a lot of distractions throughout the week and it was a poorly officiated game.  I am not going to make excuses, we lost.  We had a break down on our offensive line and we put our defense in some bad situations.  We had a great season though.  Shepherd College forfeited because they were not able to fill a team until the end.  We are optimistic about our signing day and players.  We have some offers for players already but they need to finish up strong.

                                                                    Ohio State Newark
The Ohio State Newark game was a very good game for us. Ohio State Newark had some issues with losing their head coach in the middle off the season, also losing some of their key players and their  beautiful home stadium. But they were able to put it together to play us. A lot of kids got a chance to play and the depth of our team really showed it that day. We thank God for being able to have the talent we do have. Ohio State Newark was a tough team and they fought to the end. That tells the character of their team with a 90-18 victory.

                                                                    Head Coach Newman

                                                                    Picture
                                                                    Robert Morris
It was a very big win! One of the biggest in the history of the program. Robert Morris is a very well respected 1AA football program. One of the reasons is because they have a Hall of Fame football coach Joe Walton. Coach Walton has taken them to 5 1AA football championship appearances and built an outstanding 1AA football program. Their JV team is just as tough as their varsity. Robert Morris was well coached, big, physical, and probably one of the best teams we have faced this year. We got a little beat up but came away with a 39-6 victory out of Pittsburgh.

As I look back over the schedule this year; WV Wesleyan is ranked #18 in Div II...their Varsity and JV teams are well coached, this was a big victory as well. Playing a Div II football team like Tiffin University, who plays in one of the toughest Div II conferences in the country, gave us great experience. Tiffin was well coached, had very good team speed, was very physical, and very good. It helped us a lot by being able to play them. They are probably one of the best Div II teams in the country even though the varsity is struggling.

                                                                    Head Coach Newman

                                                                    Picture
                                                                    WV Wesleyan
I thought WV Wesleyan was a good game for Tech...we played extremely well on defense, we had 7 interceptions and 2 of them were returned for touchdowns. Wesleyan was a well coached football team. Last year we struggled with Wesleyan and it was a very good football game. Wesleyan was ranked in Division II football as a top 10 team. Last year's score was 39-33, but this year our defense played as well as our offense and the final score was 63-12.

                                                                    Gray Military Academy
We dominated from the start! We rolled up 670 yards of total offense and our defense played extremely well. Gray had a couple of good athletes. We blew 2 scoring opportunities in the red zone. Tech had 3 interceptions on defense. De'Edward Burris played an exceptionally great game with 124 yards on 4 carries. Demetrius Williams played well with 12 carries for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns.

                                                                    Tiffin University
It was a long ride so the defense was a little rusty getting off the bus as Tiffin scored in the 1st drive. But we rolled up 65 points after that and the defense played extremely well. On offense and defense we had great performances from several players. We rolled up over 700 yards in total offense and caused 4 turnovers in a 65-6 victory. Tiffin University plays in a top Division II football conference, the GLIAC, probably the best Division II conference in the country.

                                                                    Head Coach Newman

                                                                    Picture
Against West Virginia Tech I thought we did great but did not have our best game. I thought our offensive line and running backs played very well that night even thought we got started late. It was a tough situation for us at Kentucky Christian last week, the weather did not want to agree with us. We would have rather come left with a win than a forfeit. I thought that the 2 weeks off would hurt us against West Virginia Wesleyan, but it really had no effect us at all. We played very well that game and put up more points than we did all season with 65. I really don't know how good this team is yet.... West Virginia Tech and West Virginia Wesleyan are both really good and very well coached teams.

                                                                    Head Coach Newman

                                                                    Picture
I am super excited about this upcoming season. We started this year off great with Antonio Brown being in the Super Bowl and we commend him on the great season he had last year. Recruiting has been good, we should have a great football team this year. I am super excited about the impact that NC Tech has made on major college football. Lindy's and Phil Steele's College Football reviews have NC Tech alumni projected to make a huge impact this year. At the quarterback position Clinton Granger projected to start at Temple, as well as Juan Simmons will start at Western Carolina. Charlotte Post has Keahn Wallace starting at Johnson C Smith as a true freshman. Mike Miller had a great spring at University of Alabama Birmingham and looks to play as a true freshmen. Justin Siems will move up the depth chart at quarterback for The Ohio State University now that Terrelle Pryor is leaving. After talking with the coaches, Farrington Hugenin is looking to start for the University of Kentucky at the defensive end position. Looks like Tyler Gilbert will be in the mix at Arkansas. The people are excited at South Florida about defensive tackle Marquis White. Evan Bostic did a great job at Georgia State, he was one of the leading tacklers on the team last year. Ed Tinker looks great at Pitt. Damon Julian should be starting before the season is over at Cincinnati. George Richardson is going to have a great season after coming off of injury at Western Carolina. Marquel Thomas is coming off of injury as well and will have a good season at Old Dominion. According to the press Stanley Jean-Baptiste is pushing for the starting wide receiver position at Nebraska. Phil Steele and Lindy's college review has Ryan Edwards to start as a true freshmen for Idaho. Phil Steele and Lindy's college review voted Jas Hopkins as 2nd team All-MAC and will be the big focus of Northern Illinois this year. Several other players are doing well throughout college football. NC Tech will be unveiling a brand new blue uniform this year. Coach Newman will be going for 175 wins this year.

                                                                    Head Coach Newman

                                                                    Picture
I thought it was a great season for us.  It was one of the most talented groups we have ever had here.  We had one of the biggest and best signing days ever.  We had 60 or more offers and 48 commits.  We are looking forward to this year and recruiting is going extremely well.  We have added some new coaches and we're very excited about our new coaches coming on board.  We are super excited about the success of Antonio Brown in the National Football League.  Looks like a host his teammates from the 2006, Team will be joining him in the National Football League.  Lester Jean All-American receiver form FAU, he was the team MVP.  He was also named to the East-West Shrine Game.  Julius Gregory, Shaw University set the All-Time Touchdown Record and played in the Heritage Bowl.  Also, Andre Tinsley, St. Paul's RB, who was named to the Minneapolis All American Bowl and was the Star Offensive MVP.  Again we are super excited about this past class and we're excited about this class coming in.

                                                                    Life Time Record 176-11
